bla bla bla...

Yesterday, it was my first time teaching. Now I can understand that it is not easy to teach. I had to explain the rationale and the way to call for arty fires. Their previous lesson was 3 months ago and yesterday was their refresher course. Most of them forgot what they had learnt during the previous lessons. To my surprise, I saw my BMT section mate, Suresh. He is now a 3rd Sergeant, Guards Scout. It was so good to see my long time no see friend since 3 months ago when I was a cadet in Artillery, then, he was a Corporal.

Went off to visit Khee Jin, my primary and secondary school friend, at SGH, Singapore General Hospital. He had an operation 1 day ago. Met up with Jenny, Kar Foong, Kok Liang, Ming Hui, Yong Kang, Rashidah, Lay Lay and Chiamei and her boyfriend. We also met Isaac who is there quite some time already. Well, I felt quite sad for Khee Jin’s unfortunate infection he got. Hope that he have a speedy recovery.

Head of Tactics, LTC Yeo, gave a briefing today about our upcoming FO challenge. It is to bring up the standards of the FO and putting FO as an “elite” of the Artillery. FO has being neglected for years. True because when ever I tell my friends that I am a FO, they will always ask, what is FO? People only thing of an Officer is a PC, Platoon Commander, but actually there are a lot more kinds of appointments which seldom people know. Completing the FO challenge, we are getting a jungle hat with an “Eyes of Fire” badge sewed on it. We are allowed to wear the hat around in camp instead of our jockey cap. It conveys to people that we are the FOs.

It has being quite tiring lately. My shin hurts after the 7km run yesterday. Also, my back hurts, again, after the stupid exercise LTC Yeo introduced us after the run. I had being avoiding getting my back injury to come back but yesterday, it is back to square one.
