Tamar Valley Touring Route, Tasmania

Today, Edwin, Sandy and me went for a short half day road trip up north along the Tamar Valley to George Town and Low Head. We also stopped over to pick oysters at one of the rocky beaches and Batman Bridge. I wonder why they named it after Batman. Then, when we were “cruising” along the minor road below the bridge, we realized that oysters are all over the river banks! Not high grade oysters of course.

This is why it's called Batman Bridge : "The bridge overlooks the Deviot Sailing Club. It is named after John Batman, Launceston businessman and founder of
Melbourne."
