Snow and Fun

I had a extremely fun and exciting weekend touring the southern part of Tasmania. We head off to Port Arthur. Along the way, we stopped by Richmond and visited the Old Hobart Town Historic Model Village.

What are they doing? O.o

Then, we went further down the road to challenge the Maze. I had trouble getting out of the 2nd maze. In the end, I took a short cut by crawling under the divider.

Port Arthur penal station was established in 1830 as a timber-getting camp, producing sawn logs for government projects. After 1833 it became a punishment station for repeat offenders (at least 2 twice) from all the Australian colonies.

A pathetic small cell.

A glimpse of light at in a Separate Prison cell.

The Chapel in Separate Prison.

It is so narrow I have to walk sideways to get in.

Saturday morning, we head down to Hobart Salamanca Market and Mt Willington. To our luck, there is snow up there! It was so crowded with cars and people and cars are anyhow parked along the road up to the tip. We managed to slot into a “lot”.

We had lots of fun throwing snow balls at each other. We made snowman and chicken and some animals. I wish I could spend more time playing in the snow!

Later next day, we head to the Airwalk and swinging bridge. Not for the faint hearted to cross the swinging bridge. No la… its not that scary actually. Hehe. It is nice to revisit these places since I last visited them 4 years ago.

Lastly, the Moon during the afternoon. We also missed the last tour to Hasting Cave at 3pm by just 10mins. Went all the way there and that’s the last tour. It is just not our luck that day. We should do our homework before any trip.
