Today has been a wet day. I wonder what the weather will be like for tomorrow. Today, again, is book-in day. It's a day which I dreaded for to come. I week had gone just like a blink of my eyes. 3 weeks had past since my first day in SISPEC and I still wanted to say, I don't like SISPEC. Actually, I should say, I don't like being in the army.
The past 5 days in SISPEC, we had our Gypsy 2 and Wanderer. The day we had our Gypsy, it drizzled and the day we had our Wanderer, it rained. I am so glad that this navigation "thing" is finished.
The worst thing I hate most will be SOC. It is the most tiring training in the army. Then followed by IPPT. My worst fear is that I might fail. But I cannot. It cannot be failed. If I fail in that, I will fail BLSC. It would be a nightmare.
Well, life still has to go on and I just can't wait to get out of being a trainee in army. I hate to be ordered to do this and that. I wanted more respect from people. There is no freedom in the army. Always, I am looking forward to my ORD date which is still so far away from my reach.
New Year's Eve was quite enjoyable. I went out with a couple of Secondary school friends, Jenny, Yong Kang, Chee Yong, Rashidah and also Su Ann who is not my Secondary school friend but got to know her through Kar Foong years ago. We went Bugis Junction and had our dinner at Billy Bombers. Then later we went to K-Box in Chinatown. I don't sing so I am just sitting there listening to them sing. But as I sat, I fell asleep... haa... Because I only had 2 an half hours of sleep the previous night due to the Wanderer day.
After singing, the rest of them headed to Clark Quay to meet Lay Lay for countdown while I went home to take a good rest. There is nothing special about this year's countdown as fireworks had being cancelled due to the recent Tsunami incident.
Yesterday, Yong Kang came to my house and he played games on my computer. While I watch a VCD, Xiao Bai Long, borrowed from Kang and read newspapers of the whole week's which I missed when I am in camp.
Why must National Service be compulsory in Singapore? I wanted to be free, wanted my life to be more meaningful, wanted to see the world. And now, I am tied down by SAF, to protect the lives of every Singaporeans and my homeland. That's why I am in army.
Got to go and get ready my book-in stuffs. Until then...
tata...
