Our story.... continues.
"I got smtg special for u, but I wont give u any hint. u got to search for it when u free. sorry, u cant ask anything now. no clue, no hint. depends on ur luck lor."
After she told me and expecting me to search for it without a starting point, I couldn't figure out where, what and how to search for the something. Then, I knew it. I went to my bookmark favourites, and click on her blog. Somehow, my feelings told me that was be the place I should begin my search. Even-though I enter her blog every day and saw no changes, I will still enter no matter what to just take a look.
Entering her secret base, I realised, this time, there is a new wallpaper. There is a new cute puppy golden retriever image on top. I had an immediate connection to this space after seeing the image. In a second, the blog entry appears. She clearly noted down how we first knew each other online, and the first time we met up at Pet Safari Vivo City.
I did not expect myself to be meeting someone through virtual means. I did not expect I will be dating someone who I had just met. It was something "unconventional" I had just did.
A few months ago, I told a friend that I wished there is a girl who will take the initiative to approach me instead of myself approaching a girl. These words seems to be heard by my late father and he granted my wish. In the middle of July, I received a message from her. Being pretty busy over the weekend, I did not reply. Having the problem of short term memory, I forgot. I received a follow-up email. This time, I thought I was impolite to delay the reply, therefore, I took sometime in the middle of the night to respond.
It is on the 19th July when we started to chat online on MSN messenger. I was unsure of what I should do, and she was careful about the person she is conversing to. I still remembered I told her that I was paiseh that I never reply her earlier. Our first conversations then was about our jobs. We had different job nature. She works in a lab as a research student and I work in an architecture firm as an Architect. I was initially unsure if we will hit a road block when we run out of topics to say.
As days past, we got to know each other more and more, and we realised we had lots of similarity. Spot the difference when there was something different between our likings. Both of us love Golden Retrievers. We both like weird "hobbies" such as going to supermarket and standing at the same spot for minutes just to compare products and prices. Not many people will be able to tolerate our "time consuming" habits :P
Many occasions we talked anything under the sun. We discussed about work, family, and play. Both of us are family orientated type of species. The type that is declining in modern society. Our views regarding family and future expectations and goals are similar. Most importantly, we love cooking and food. I can imagine too that we are cooking together in the kitchen, and probably making weird dishes and "fighting".
Oh yes, before our first meet up, we arranged a time and place, and the most important part is that we did not exchange our mobile numbers, nor we told each other what we are going to wear or using something as a signal to each other who we are, probably because we already saw each other's photos. So fate brought us together when I spotted her from a distance in the pet shop. She didn't not realise that I was standing behind her. When she realised, she turned and gave me a warm smile. I was nervous. We had silent moments when we are admiring our favourite Golden Retriever taking a bath, and been groomed. But after dinner, everything seems to have eased up a fair bit. We chatted all night till 10pm when the fireworks started firing away from Resort World Sentosa. Sparkling fireworks ended our day. Still, we did not exchange our numbers. I intend to keep it that way until it is fitting when we require each other's number.
It really seems like we have known each other for years. Though we only met up once, but we are looking forward to our next meet up. Still planning...
Till next time...
