Hossan Leong came to Hobart! I “pontang” tute on Thursday just to go Hobart to meet him in person. Actually it is part of the Singapore Buzz organised by Overseas Singaporean, Canberra. Hobart is his first stop. He headed to Brisbane the next day and I think he should be back in Singapore sleeping.
I brought my camera along but I forgot to bring my CF card! So sad. Lucky Jonathan had a camera and helped me took a picture with Hossan.
As usual, the moment he opened his mouth on stage, we started to laugh. He’s jokes are forever humorous. I cannot forget his airplane jokes about British Airways, Qantas, Singapore Airlines, United Airlines, China Airlines, etc. I can’t stop laughing.
Another surprise guest is Dr Lily Neo, one of the Minster of Parliament of Singapore. She is visiting his son, Alvin Neo, who is studying medicine in UTas. Oh my, the house of doctors. Mother’s a doctor, Father’s a Doctor, Sister studying medicine in Singapore, and he is studying medicine here. After talking to him, he isn’t that proud at all, a very humble person. Funny when Jonathan told us that he did not realise that the aunty he kept addressing to is a MP when they met in church.
It was a fun night. Thanks to Jonathan for allowing us to sleep over at his place again. If not I will have to drive back again at midnight.
The next day, we went to the Island Market in Moonah to get some chicken meat for the house. It’s cheaper there and after all it’s along the way home. We also went to catch a movie, Up, at Eastlands. Up is a very touching and funny show and I highly recommend it to anyone.
On the way back to Launceston, I saw cockatoos along the highway again! There are flocks of them! I think in hundreds! Why did I forget to bring my CF card?! Oh well…
