Kranji War Memorial

I woke up during Saturday morning and drove to Kranji War Memorial, which is a few minutes drive away, for some photo shooting. There are dark clouds above but it is still sunny which is ideal for photography. The photos were edited to brighten the dark clouds.

Later the day, went out with Laney and Ashley for movie, The Da Vinci Code. Quite nice the show but it’s a bit confusing at the beginning. The story written brought controversial debates around the world. “What Matters is what you believe”

Putting down a heavy stone

At last, I had removed a heavy stone which had being in my heart for 2 weeks. The ORD Function which my battery was tasked to organize ended at 2300 hours on 11th May. It was quite a success except for a few small hiccups here and there.

I had a very tired day that afternoon; running here and there preparing for the stage. Even after I went home to change a new shirt, it became soaked in my perspiration soon after and stained. I was busy taking photos during the function and had not much time for dinner. I was so hungry after the event but did not grab any supper and went to sleep straight after a cold shower.

Almost 10 hours I slept and it seemed not enough for me. I head straight to East Coast Park to meet up with my “regular shutter bugs” which my friend named us, Ashley, Laney and Anthony. Joining us was Yiling, also one of the classmates from poly. We had our dinner at Lagnaa at Little India and we had our Chocolate Fondue. It was great. No left over chocolate was spared.

Again, we took a lot of self and group portraits at Lagnaa. We had a lot of fun filled time thinking of funny and silly posture to shoot.

Friction of Force, Chapter 3 – From Teenage to Adult

3 years had past with just a blink of an eye. Boys turned men, girls turned women. They had grown up to learn to survive in the outside world. Boys were sent to serve the nation in various forces and were trained to be better men. Girls looked for jobs to earn an income for living.

The way they think should be mature enough and there were able to look after themselves.

A decade of their friendship marks the number of years of close bonds and determination to keep that going. It was time that they decided to make it a memorable event. Most of them gathered and started to prepare for that function. They felt that how many of the people out there have a big group of friends for 10 years or longer.

The event should be a big one. They prepared guest list, food, games and prizes. They even held the event in their secondary school where they first met each other. As time goes by, almost all the things were settled.

One day just a week or so before the event, problem arose. A few had conflicts with each other. The main accused for the conflict was communication. After a decade together as friends, that is the most interesting part - whether the argument will shake between the each of them and break that long term friendship.

The argument went on for days and it seems to be getting worst. Until one day, the event was called off. People could not get into terms. Others do not have the mood and momentum to continue.

Instead of a full scale event, they decided on a dinner and outing. It turned out to be quite a successful one. Everyone seems to have forgotten the friction they had with each other. They were chatting and playing like friends again. One thing for sure, it is difficult to break a strong friendship bond which this group of people had created. They built it up from foundation deep in their heart and raise it up with interlocking superstructure even the most powerful natural disaster cannot destroy.

The End.

The Polling Day

Today is the polling day. My first time to vote wor… I went in the afternoon. The process was quite fast actually; not much of waiting required. Votes are secret… shh…

Yesterday, I went out with my secondary school friends for dinner at a café called The Mind Café. It is a restaurant selling not much variety of food and charges $2 per person for 2 hours of board games and many others during weekday and $2.50 during weekends.

The only main dishes for consumption are spaghettis and Lasagnas. The wait was so long. So long that we had being waiting for 2 hours for the last order arrived. What a poor service! Worst, not many people were ordering food! It was only Salmon spaghetti. We guessed they needed to catch the fish and slice it. For the poor and slow service, they gave us a complimentary play of their games and free glass of coke for each. At least they did a bit of damage control.

I love taking photos

Yesterday, went out with my BMT mates for a Tim Sum Buffet at Dragon Gate Restaurant at HarborFront Centre. Sitting there, I received a phone call. From Weiyin, she ask if I were eating Tim Sum. I looked around and saw her across the other side of the hall. An hour later, I received a SMS. From Alex Phua, asking if I am at Dragon Gate. I turned around and saw him further away at one corner of the hall. Singapore is too small.

Later in the afternoon, I met up with Laney, Ashley and Ashley friend Marcus. They were late. Laney went to make her contacts but spent 45mins to put on her contact lenses.

We went to Chimes for a Macau Exhibition. There was a Rolls Royce and a Beetle like Vehicle starts with M. We later made our way to Little India when we say goodbye to Marcus. Little India is a very happening area. The whole place was crowded with not only people but also vehicles. Shooting pictures there was a excitement especially with all the different colors of fruits at their roadside wet market.

There is this little restaurant LAGNAA, also known as the bare foot restaurant. The food was superb. They had a great service and it feels like home. I had a urge to sleep there; it was too comfortable. A surprise came shortly after we had our meal. We joined a couple of people for a chit chat, light food and wine. There, we get to know a lady who is the mother of a famous Singapore blogger. It is a very small Singapore indeed.

Friction of Force, Chapter 2 – The Separation

After 5 years of studies, finally, they graduated from secondary education. The time they spent together, will be kept in their memories and forever be remembered. They will miss the school, teachers, and fellow classmates and the time they spent with each other through thick and thin.

A few months later, they continued with their territory education and started to meet their own new course mates. That group had once said to each other, “We will not forget each other. Even if people once said that once one met a new friend, one will forget about his secondary school friends. But we will always be together as a family.”

For the 3 years towards their own path they chose, they made new friends. But they have never forgotten the others yet. This family they created made the effort to keep them united for the next 3 years and they succeeded.
